Words to Live By

On December 17, 1996, I gave the pen of my life to Christ. While He teaches me new things every day, each truth is found in a book that has, & will, edured the test of time: the Bible. Please, feel free to post your favorite verses in the comment section below. I'd love to hear how the Lord is encouraging you.
May the incredible love of Jesus knock your wooley socks off!

Life Verses
Somewhat like a life moto or mission statement, these are the verses I feel God has specially given to me. When life hands me a smile or a bucket of tears I run to these verses to remind myself that life isn't about me, it's all about Him.
All texts are taken from the KJV unless otherwise noted. Colored brackets & minimized text are my personal insights. Enjoy!

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
*You should really check out the entire passage, verses 28-39. There is no greater encouragement than knowing that God is on your side!

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)
For I know the thoughts & plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts & plans for welfare & peace & not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
The God of this world is not only interested in your dreams, but also has a plan for your life that far exceedes your wildest imaginations. Cool, huh?

Hebrews 13:5-6
Let your conversation [that's your character or attitude] be without covetousness; & be content with such things as ye have: for He [that's Christ] hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, & I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Remind me again why I get so intimidated by people?
Verses to Live By
This section of the page will be continually modified as the Lord shows me verses that should be part of my everyday life. While some verses may disappear as Christ brings me to a new page of my fairytale, I forsee great growth in this section because, hey, "God's still workin' on me."
Psalm 34:1-4
I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, & be glad. O magnify [make God really, really big] the LORD with me, & let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, & He heard me, & delievered me from all my fears.
You can never give God too much glory. Spread the Word!
Psalm 55:13-14
But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, & mine acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, & walked unto the house of God in company.
This verse defines true, Biblical friendship. I desire to surround myself with those who are not afraid to comfort & correct me in the Lord. I pray that someday I will marry a man whose life is defined by this verse.
Proverbs 31:30 (AMP)
Charm & grace are deceptive, & beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently & worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!
If you have an amplified Bible, check out the end notes for this verse--truly eye-opening. Oh that I would be counted among women like Ruth, Esther, Miriam, & Mary!
I John 4:7-11
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; & every one that loveth is born of God, & knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent His only begotten Son [Christ] into the world, that we might live through Him [Christ]. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, & sent His Son to be the propitiation [the atoning, perfect, irreplaceable sacrifice] for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Don't base your love on the human love that surrounds you. How is your love compared to God's?
